Name: Sophia Nicknames: Fia, Sophie
Age: 22 Race: Avian Gender: Female Sexuality: Bisexual
Type: Livingstone Fruit Bat Ability: Telepathy Attributes: Capable of flight, fragile bones, enhanced speed and strength, along with a beautiful voice (when they sing).
Appearance:
Sophia stands around five-foot eight, a good height for a young woman, and her hair reaches down to her shoulder blades in the most dark raven-black color and when the light shines on them it's like seeing an oil spill. The young woman's eyes are a very bright blue, but nevertheless, pale almost clear water blue. She used to have normal ears, but because of the so-called "mutations" after the radiation her ears became fairly pointed, and nothing like what most would consider normal. Her ears became a bit longer and a little more outspoken, because of the particular bat dna she was infused with, and by all means bats have always had larger ears than most flying mammals.
But aside from the state of her strange ears, she has other disfigurements that came with it and it quite dominantly shows her emotions. It's a tail. She doesn't remember how she got it, or why she has it. But it's thick at the base of her spine and thins out at the end, it's at least four-feet long. It was a defect in the mutation but it wasn't crippling enough to put her down in the slighest, instead it was more like an opportunity and a helpful piece for her body. Fia has wings that are fairly large, and possibly too much weight for her body, but her tail formed for the sole purpose of helping her balance because of this.
Her wings are doubled the size of her body, at about a twelve foot wing span, and they're a very pale color like that of her skin tone along the bones. But the membrane built around the bones are still pale, however; that of a slightly darker almost tanned shade of skin. The wings need to be kept warm when it's very cold weather, otherwise she hides them in her back like some form of a tattoo which came with the mutations (but she knows other avians can do the same). When she has them out they are relaxed and folded against her back or down at her sides in a different relaxed fashion.
Personality:
Sophia has a bit of an uptight attitude, and with that comes a bit of a bitchy personality. For instance when people first meet her she doesn't acknowledge any person until they speak with her, but its because she is known for not talking with "strangers" if you will and that she doesn't speak unless spoken to at first encounters. She can essentially be a bit of a intimidating, if not scary, individual but that's usually when she feels unsafe around some people (those this intimidation doesn't always work on men where it works on women far more). And around those people she doesn't know, or first meet, she is defensive and quite confident of her stature if not quite outspoken when she is tested.
Among it all she is a very quiet, but contemplative, individual which causes her insane ability to stay quiet even in stressful situations or around strangers. When it comes to working with others though she will help from time to time, but when it's something she is doing alone she isn't very trusting in people (even with those she knows) to help her do something correctly; she is quite a perfectionist. And when other people might be social butterflies, she isn't, Sophia is somewhat withdrawn and refuse to speak when she deems it necessary. After the bombing went off she lost a lot of friends, and without them she believes she can't keep any friends she makes now without knowing there might be a price in the end.
There have been a lot of people that get on her nerves, and she's been desperately trying to get over it, but those who pretty much "dare" to get in her face. She is confrontational, and she acts like this because some subjects hit a sensitive spot which she acts upon with anger. Though she likes a lot of people who are insightful, and compassionate, if not protective or not afraid to put up a fight if need be.
History:
The young woman can't really recall much of what happened in her past, having been drugged so much when she was in the hospital. She can only recall she grew up there, but what happened there seemed to have been blocked out by her own mind. From time to time however, Sophia does have a few flashbacks if not minor or fairly small memories of her past. However, the woman decided not to react to them, at least a vast majority of them that came through. When she did people kept saying; ‘it’s alright, don’t worry about it, that’s all in the past there’s no point in remembering those things’. So she inevitably gave up trying to decipher them, or even learn what happened.
Even though she can’t recall much she only remembers the hospital that she grew up in, and that she was treated kindly enough (or it’s all she can really remember). But growing up there was more or less in seclusion for some odd reason, and she could never figure out why to begin with; though, she was always put under strenuous tests. And she developed pain in her back at that time which developed further through her spine, but they simply continued and let whatever it was grow through her body even if it was a painful situation. Sophia had probably the one type of pain that she thought she would never have in her life after that, and it was having the skin on her back rip open like someone stretching plastic until it gives in and bursts at the seams.
The people in white coats, her doctor’s, were in shock as much as she was but they immediately helped her situation by trying to stop the bleeding. She couldn’t move for hours after the incident, and she felt overburdened by the weight that was connected to her shoulders especially because her frame was so thin and tall. When she managed to heal, with the doctor’s help, they had noticed another strange mutation that had been developing while she was under drugs to help through the pain of the first change in her anatomy; her tail bone had been extending outward a ways to form a tail. They had been tempted to cut it off at first, but when they let it grow longer they realized it was actually helping her balance with the heavy weight of her wings.
